Attorney Michael V. Calabro's unique background brings valuable perspectives and experiences to his clients' legal issues. He served two years as a police patrolman in Essex County, and worked as a detective for the Essex County Prosecutor's Office while attending law school. Upon obtaining his law degree in 1986, Mr. Calabro resumed a 10-year career with Essex County as a prosecutor. Initially assigned to the Juvenile Bureau, he later served as Supervisor of Trial Courts and Director of Narcotics Enforcement (in which he prosecuted the first drug kingpin cases in Essex County).
Mr. Calabro entered private practice in 1995 as a partner in a civil litigation firm and as defense counsel for Hartz Mountain Industries in workers' compensation defense. He opened his own solo practice in Newark in 2002.
